Riam Berasap

Site Description

Riam Berasap is found in the heart of the National Park, on the upper reaches of the Siduk River, which swiftly runs from the high mountain peaks into the southern lowlands. The trail to reach the site departs from the traditional Dayak Village of Nek Doyan, following the Siduk River trough a series of spectacular rapids, canyons and waterfalls, immerse in thick, pristine jungle. Riam Berasap is the largest waterfall in National Park, 10 meters high and 5 wide, forming a vast, crystal clear water pool about 300 m2 wide, at the bank of which is located the main camp-site.

Trip Description

The trip is hiking through the hill, going up and going down , across the clear stony river. The visitors are advised to wear shoes, hat and have excellent stamina. This trip will be exciting if it is done in group.

Wild Life

Visitors to Riam Berasap can spend several days hiking along the river or climbing on the steep mountain slopes, witnessing the magnificence of one of the best examples of Bornean Primary Rain forest. Wild-life is also abundant and relatively fearless of humans, since the local Dayaks believe this area is inhabited by forest spirits and seldom enter it.

Duration : 6D – 5N (1 nights in homestay; 4 nights camping ground)


Day 1 :

Land trip to Pangkal Tapang Village. Sight seeing in Dayak Village and Overnight in Local Homestay.


Day 2 :

Breakfast. Hiking up to Riam Berasap Waterfall. Observe Wildlife. Overnight in Camping Ground.


Day 3 :

Breakfast. Hiking up to Riam Berasap Waterfall. Observe Wildlife. Overnight in Camping Ground.


Day 4 :

Breakfast. Hiking up to Riam Parit Waterfall. Overnight in Camping Ground.


Day 5 :

Breakfast. Hiking back to Riam Berasap Waterfall. Hiking to the hill in Riam Berasap area. Overnight in Camping Ground.


Day 6 :

Breakfast. Hike back to Pangkal Tapang village. Travel back to Ketapang. Overnight in Ketapang.
